This is what the FDA has to say about canthaxanthin:
"Although... approved for use as a color additive in foods, ...its use in...tanning pills is not approved. Imported tanning pills containing canthaxanthin are subject to automatic detention as products containing unsafe color additives".* 		 
The tanning pills previously described here were an all natural formula (no canthaxanthin) developed to increase the skin's supply of melanin, the substance produced naturally in the skin to help protect it against UV radiation, unlike the color additives.  The supplier is currently not available.  
Although canthaxanthin is available elsewhere, HealingCom.com does not recommend that product due to the FDA advisory referenced above.
